A New You in 2013

Allow God’s love to change the way you look at you.  – Max Lucado

How many of us have made or will make a New Year’s Resolution to get in shape? We want to look good. We want to feel good. We want to make changes so we will feel confident about ourselves. All of these are noble goals. It is godly to look good. It is godly to take care of our bodies. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We must provide Him a healthy house to dwell in. But what we must not do is put too much weight in how we look (pardon the pun). Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.

God loves you unconditionally. He loves you with an everlasting love. He created you in His image for a purpose. He loves you just as you are, but He loves you too much to leave you that way. God sees you as His child and He loves you as such. So when you’re feeling insecure or unloved or misfit or unworthy, allow God’s love to change the way you look at you in 2013.

“The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7)

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness” (Jeeremiah 31:3).

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail” (Lamentations 3:12).

Please say a little prayer for me. I have relapsed  and am fighting whatever I had last week, and am pretty sick. I started on an antibiotic today so prayerfully tomorrow will be a new day!
